Use the registration form below by 1.10. There is no cost for members of SLHK or foreign heelerklubb to participate in this event, only certain activities cost a small amount. Non-members may attend for a cost of 250 SEK deposited in BG 524-7077 no later than 10.01. Enter the terms Heelerhelg, your name and phone number.

Accommodation and food

Booking accommodation and food directly from Tånga Hed! Tel 0046 (0)322-624311. Tell them you are joining the Lancashire Heeler Club acitivty! There are camping (180-240 SEK/ night) and hostels (220-285 SEK / night). See www.tangahed.se Do not forget to ask if you have special requirements on the food, menu – see below. You who live in the hostel can obviously cook your own food if you prefer.

Lunch on Saturday: Baked fish with pommes duchesse and legumes: 80 SEK
Dinner on Saturday, Cheese breaded schnitzel with tomato sause, vegetables and fried potatoes: 100 SEK

Lunch on Sunday: Meatballs in cream sause with cranberries and salad: 80 SEK

Travel

If you come by train we can pick up at the station in Vårgårda Friday at approx 20.30. Check the box in the form if you need this service. Tånga Hed located in Vårgårda near E20, about midway between Gothenburg and Skara, and road 42, about midway between Trollhättan and Boras.

Program

Friday – mingling from 19.00

Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00

Anatomy & exterior: Film ”Movement and conformation,” lecture on heelerns exterior and anatomy. With Susanne Nilsson, Sweden’s only breed specialist.

Stations with some of our talented heelercontestants. Including will Kajsa Eriksson, USM medalist in agility, to be on hand with tips. Try and get tips and advice on what you should think about a little extra when you compete / train heeler in the various branches.

  • ”Hands on” – learn to know heelerns anatomy in practice
    Show Training – How do I show my heeler for best results?
  • Heelwork To Music & Freestyle – Learn to dance with your heeler
  • Agility – heelerns ability and how we train
  • Rally Obedience – how we train our heeler
  • Tracking – try it on and see your dog’s predisposition

More activities during the day:

  • End the show training with an unofficial show, judge Susanne Nilsson. 50 SEK. Notification in place.
  • Fun Competition – teams of two – four dogs challenge each other. 50 SEK per team. Notification in place.
  • Scavenger hunt SEK 20 (hint, almost all answers are in the heelerbook)
  • Nail clipping – get help from the dog salon owner to clip your dog’s claws SEK 20
  • Lotteries – great prizes!
  • Massage for mistress / master of a certified masseur.
  • Promotional gadgets are obviously in place.

Breeding & health & future of the breed:
On Sunday morning we sit down and discuss the current situation and the future. Basis is our Breed Specific breeding strategies. All interested are welcome, we need both breeders and owners to participate and discuss the future of our race.

Herding:
Jenny Pleym lectures on herding according to the Swedish Vallhund-model. Time for discussion and questions. Jenny has seen many of those who made heeler herding instinct test, according to their model.

Mentality:
The heeler mentality and behavioral and personality description, BPH.
